Voices — Hong Kong Will Light China's Way

This is what freedom looks like. It's beautiful

Well-known environmentalist and frequent micro-blogger Liu Shengjun’s (@刘胜军改革) plane just touched down in Hong Kong, and he loves the place. He tweeted the following:

“Today I arrived in Hong Kong. A free city; a hard-working city; a city with very low taxes; a financial center; a city with no controls on speech and therefore with a flourishing culture; a city where public officials are afraid of the Independent Commission Against Corruption; a city with no resources other than its own [governmental, legal and financial] system. Hong Kong’s success tells us: Systemic resources are much more important than natural resources, and freedom is the highest level of system. I hope Shanghai can learn from Hong Kong’s essence!”{{Chinese}}[[Chinese]]今天来到香港。

Xu Xiaoping (@徐小平), founder of early-stage investment fund ZhenFund, retweeted the comment and added for the benefit of his 4.8 million followers, “China has Hong Kong, Taiwan and these kinds of places to show us the benefits of democracy. So China has a lot of hope for the future.” {{Chin.}}[[Chin.]]
